Delphine featured in Exquisite Weddings June July 2013

Delphine featured Exquisite Weddings San Diego Summer 2013It’s pretty obvious around here what my favorite color is (green, of course). My least favorite color of all time? Yep, purple. I went through a “purple is my favorite color” phase back in fourth grade (I had a purple Izod shirt that I wore out), but I grew out of it in fifth grade and never looked back. The one shade of purple that doesn’t make me gag? Lavender. We recently letterpressed one of my favorite wedding invitation designs, Chevron, in pale purple and it made my stomach flutter … in a good way.

Black Edge Painted Letterpress Business Cards

Black edge painted letterpress business cards for wedding photographer Paul Barnett by DelphineJust off press … some really cool letterpress business cards for a fabulous San Diego wedding photographer. We letterpressed the square business cards in dark black ink on double thick bright white cotton cover stock, with killer black edge painting detail. Love these!

In a previous life Paul Barnett was probably a doctor … just check out that crazy signature! Lucky for all you brides and grooms out there, Paul is living life as one of the most fabulous, charming, and super talented wedding photographers in all the land. Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about his work. His sense of humour is killer, and he has impeccable timing, too. Here’s a peek at what I’m talking about:

Riviera Arts + Power 2011It was such a treat to be in my favorite issue of the year! Merci, Riviera.

summer treat: shave ice

//photos: Erika Firm

Why did nobody tell me how amazing Hawaiian shave ice is before? YUMMY. I had a chance to try it for the first time a few weeks ago at the Gravy co-working event Lori hosted at her lovely Paper & Thread studio (photos coming soon of her super adorable workspace). It was about a zillion times yummier than any other shaved ice treat I’ve had before. I am so thankful to the Gravy team for introducing me to Kam Shave Ice. I am planning a trip to Oceanside Pier so I can have more soon. See you there!

in the press: bridal insider

The Royal Wedding approaches! I hadn’t thought much about it until Eventity asked me to participate in an inspiration shoot with A Royal Wedding theme in San Diego. I whipped up some pretty menus using our Wonderland motif. Now I’m super curious to see what the paper goods at the “real” royal wedding look like. My gut tells me that Kate is going to look stunning, but the paper goods are going to be a bit stale and crazy traditional, if it’s anything like their uninspired wedding invitation. Where’s the drama??

Anyhoo, I’m officially on board for watching the Royal Wedding. Anyone planning a viewing party? Believe it or not, we don’t have a decent television in our house!

Many thanks to Eventity for including us in this inspiration shoot, and to Kristina Chartier Photography for shooting such lovely photos. Hop on over to Bridal Insider to see the lovely champagne, ivory and gold tablescape in all its glory.
