Filmotype LaCrosse | Font Love

Filmmotype LaCrosse font love via DelphineFilmotype LaCrosse is a true retro font — it was first released in the 1950s. Can’t you just picture it on an ad for lipstick or gold earrings? I love the casual penscript … I really wish my own handwriting looked like this.

Duke | Font Geek

font love duke via delphineI’m working on some fun new projects, including a bunch of informal invitations, and DUKE has really been put to work on the new stuff. The chiseled typeface by James T. Edmondson has a vintage vibe, kind of like my favorite dive bar. Another amazing font published by the geniuses at Lost Type. All designers get 100 percent of the donations their font receives. Yay for designers making mon-ay!!!! If you download the font (and you should) don’t forget to pay for it ; )

Copasetic | Font Geek

Copasetic Free Font via DelphineThe entire Delphine studio is crazy excited for the new Great Gatsby film. It’s Brelyn’s favorite book, and one of mine, too. I just re read it, and now I see optometrist signs everywhere.

Needless to say, in anticipation of the movie we’re getting serious 1920s fever and are designing up a whole slew of 20s themed wedding invitations. One of the fonts we’re using a bunch is Copasetic. The Art Deco style works great for our 20s style invitations. The font is free, by the way. You’re welcome ; )

San Rafael | Font Geek

San Rafael Font Love via DelphineCrystal Kluge has done it again! Another perfectly charming font. The San Rafael font is sorta girly, sweet, and on the casual side, but still sophisticated enough for a wedding invitation. I think it would be particularly fun for an autumn apple picking party invitation.

San Francisco Tile Letterpressed 7 Ways

San Francisco Tile Letterpress Wedding Invitation Letterpressed 7 ways by DelphineSan Franciso Tile has always been one of my favorite Delphine designs. I like the clean, simple layout. I prefer it with sans serif fonts like Gill Sans or Futura, but some clients have been ordering it lately with script fonts. The look is growing on me. What do you prefer? Fancy script or simple sans serif?

Font Geek Moment: Bombshell

Bombshell Pro font by Emily Lime Foundry Emily Lime’s newest release, Bombshell, is oh so pretty. It has lots of glyphs and special characters, so it truly does look like hand calligraphy, imperfections and all. The second I saw it I snatched it up for the Delphine library.

font geek moment: st. lorie

Our apricot trees are super bountiful this year, and the Mémé’s have taken to making lots and lots of jellies and jams. They keep asking me to make them some fancy labels … I think St. Lorie may be the perfect font. It reminds me a bit of French schoolgirl handwriting.
