It’s always challenging and always changing.
3.Where do you draw inspiration from?
color, other artists, the streets.
4.What would you do if you won the lottery today?
Travel
5.What is your favorite font?
It would be easier to tell you my least favorite(s).
6.How do you stay organized?
I prefer organized chaos.
7.Which super-power would you like to have.. mind reading or invisibility?
Invisibility 
8.What do you listen to while working?
Anything Pandora throws at me… I’ve got pretty eclectic taste. It all just depends on what I’m in the mood for.
Black keys, Black Crowes, Top 40, Kanye West, Jack Johnson and Michael Jackson.
9.What is your Favorite Delphine design and why?
Chevron – its simple, modern & bold.
10.Name 3 things you can’t live without.
1. My Family
2. My Dog
3. My Mac… sad, but true
11.What is the best piece of advice you have ever gotten? (include who it was from)
” Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain” – one of the far decent fortunes i’ve ever gotten in a cookies. I keep it in my wallet.

Change By Design – Tim Brown
13.What is your favorite place to eat in Charleston?
Dukes & Hometeam BBQ 
14.What keeps you going throughout the day?
Prozac and Coffee
15.How do you get past creative blocks?

If I’m being forced to choose, which i feel like i am…i would have to say Harry Potter
17.What is your favorite thing about Charleston?
Certainly not the drivers… I love the laid back atmosphere and copious amounts of creativity
18.What is the craziest line of text a client has ever asked for on an invitation?
nothing has shocked me yet. I think whats crazy is trying to fit 35+ lines of text on a 15 line card
19.What’s your favorite color?
It changes daily.
20.What’s your favorite movie?
Step Brothers
21.What’s your favorite book?
At the moment… Sarah’s key – Tatiana de Rosnay & Loving Frank – Nanoy Horan

  Listen to our design suggestions! Quality printing takes time – order in advance!!

 Architectural Digest

Delphine for Cardstore Christmas Cards Holiday 2012Yay yay yay!!!! My Delphine holiday photo card collection for Cardstore is live. I had a lot of fun designing for Christmas last summer (one day I even busted out the flannel jammies, hot cocoa and watched Elf to get in the spirit). 1.My role at Delphine/what I do all day:
Graphic Designer-create custom proofs for clients
2.Describe why you went into graphic design.
I actually studied costume design in school, but always had a knack for visually communicating ideas. I got an internship with a magazine in graphic design and haven’t turned back.
3.Where do you draw inspiration from?
Everything- but my background in costume design makes me look at fashion designers and fabrics for inspiration.
4.What would you do if you won the lottery today?
Start a men’s clothing line
5.What is your favorite font?
Right now..script: Aphrodite Slim Pro ……..Serif: Prestige….Sans Serif: Erik Sans
6.How do you stay organized?
I write everything down
7.Which super-power would you like to have … mind reading or invisibility?
Neither. I think people should keep some thoughts to themselves and I love to be seen.
8.What do you listen to while working?
Florence and the Machine-Pandora Station
9.What is your favorite Delphine design and why?
Meeting Street. I love the shape of the frame-very rococco
10.Name 3 things you can’t live without.
My moleskin sketchbook, chicken salad, and color
11.What is the best piece of advice you have ever gotten? (include who it was from)
“Do what you love to do.”-Andrew Walker of Entropy Arts/Ensemble
12.What is the latest book that you have read?
The Great Gatsby (again)
13.What is your favorite to place eat in Charleston?
The Macintosh for a nice dinner or Fuel for casual.
14.What keeps you going throughout the day?
The Delphine Crew and Diet Coke
15.How do you get past creative blocks?
If I get a creative block, I have to step away from the project for a second (and if possible enjoy a glass of wine) then revisit it after I’ve cleared my head.
16.Are you a Twilight, Hunger Games, or Harry Potter series fan?
Harry Potter and the Hunger Games for sure!
17.What is your favorite thing about Charleston?
The culture and the community
18.What is the craziest line of text a client has ever asked for on an invitation?
When referencing their wedding attire: “like something you would wear to a fancy restaurant”
19.What’s your favorite color?
Turquoise and yellow (like Van Gogh’s “sunflowers”)
20.What’s your favorite movie?
Marie Antoinette by Sophia Coppola (for visual purposes only)
21.What’s your favorite book?
The Great Gatsby

I make handbags with Libby Ganong and Add Libb Designs, a local Charleston Handbag company

When people pass you on the sidewalk and do not say “hi”.

Today we’re taking a peek behind the scenes at the Delphine studio … at the awesome people behind the brand! Meet our newest designer, Lytle Cannon.
1. My role at Delphine/what I do all day:
I design proofs of wedding invitations and stationery for brides to be.
2. Describe why you went into graphic design.
Well, I have always loved art and I majored in Psychology in college. I thought graphic design would be a way to combine two things that I am really  passionate about!
3. Where do you draw inspiration from?
Nature and anything in my environment
4. What would you do if you won the lottery today?
Take everyone at Delphine out for drinks!
5. What is your favorite font?
It changes all the time…. right now I’m really liking Bombshell and Carolyna.
6. How do you stay organized?
By color coding, writing myself notes, and highlighting!
7. Which super-power would you like to have: mind reading or invisibility?
Definitely mind reading! I think it would get old really fast to be invisible all the time.
8. What do you listen to while working?
Depends on what mood I’m in. Lately I’ve been listening to Amy Winehouse Radio and James Brown Radio on Pandora
9. What is your favorite Delphine design and why?
San Francisco- because it can be really fun and casual
Chrysanthemum- because of the detail in the design element
10. Name 3 things you can’t live without.
My family, ERNIE! My golden retriever puppy, and cinnamon dolce lattes from Starbucks
11. What is the best piece of advice you have ever gotten? (include who it was from)
Don’t be afraid to fail. -Professor from college
12. What is the latest book you have read?
13. What is your favorite place to eat in Charleston?
14. What keep you going throughout the day?
Recently- Milkshakes from Chic fil a and an awesome Reeses cake that Jeffrey made
15. How do you get past creative blocks?
Take a break and walk outside
16. Are you a Twilight, Hunger Games, or Harry Potter series fan?
17. What is your favorite thing about Charleston?
The humid summers, bad drivers and flooding :)
18. What is the craziest line of text a client has ever asked for on an invitation?
“party pants required”
19. What’s your favorite color?
It changes all the time but I always love any shade of blue
20. What’s your favorite book?
21. Some things you might not know about me are…
My pet peeve? When people don’t push their buggies to the cart return and leave them in the middle of the parking lot

08 August 2012 Desk Calendar by DelphineHello, August. Wait … how is it August already? Back to school?!? Already?!!!? John’s BIG birthday?!? Already?!?? What happened to July? Heck, what happened to June? Wish I could stop the clock and hit re-do on summer. It’s hard to think of anything I like better than a lazy summer day at the beach. Good thing summer stretches into fall here in South Carolina … I plan on packing in as many beach days as possible. I even bought a fresh bottle of sunscreen yesterday.
