NSS Preview: Sideshow Press

NSS 2013 Preview Sideshow Press Charleston via DelphineToday I’m super duper excited to share a preview of my Charleston neighbor’s stationery line, Sideshow Press. (Heeeey, neighbor!) I’m thrilled for them as they venture to the Javits for the first time as exhibitors (they’re setting up as I type this) with their fab new line, which includes letterpress cards, wrapping paper, totes, pencil holders, journals and other desktop necessities. All inspired (obv) by the outdoors: canoe trips, crackling campfires, cabins and other woodsy adventures. I’ve got my eye on those handy note pads, which would, indeed, be handy for storing all those darn passwords that I keep forgetting.

If you’re headed to the show, be sure to stop by to see the ladies of Sideshow Press at booth #1852 and tell them “hey.”

Introducing Santa Barbara Wedding Invitation

introducing santa barbara wedding invitations by delphinenew design by delphine santa barbaraIt was a rainy day here at our Charleston studio, but we managed to sneak in a few photos between rain drops of our brand new design. A little bit vintage, a lot pretty … I’m pleased to announce that our new Santa Barbara invitation is now live on Delphine! Inspired by, you guessed it, Santa Barbara, California. It would be great for a fancy barn wedding or rustic ranch wedding, don’t you think? With twinkly lights and sparkly drinks and lace gowns and maybe even some cowboy boots.

Artist Lulie Wallace

Artist Lulie Wallace Charleston South Carolina via DelphineLast night after work I popped over to Stems to see Charleston artist Lulie Wallace‘s stunning floral paintings. I think my jaw dropped to the floor when I walked in. I wanted to take them all home with me! I also really want to paint my living room that gorgeous dark emerald green color now. Who’s with me?

Artist Lulie Wallace at Stems in Charleston South Carolina via DelLulie was super adorable and gracious. I was so focused on the paintings I forgot to snap a pic with her, but trust me: adorable. I wanted to squeeze her.
Lulie Wallace floral paintings at Delphine studio in CharlestonYesterday I was feeling a little homesick for the bright colors of Southern California, but the exhibit cheered me right up. Lulie’s color palette seems to be pulled straight from my dreams: lots of spring green, chartreuse, yellow, peach, with a touch of blue iris  … and a mini touch of nearly neon). I have my eye on one of her larger paintings for my home, but for now I couldn’t resist a few of her smaller pieces for the Delphine studio. I had planned to give a few of these away as gifts, but it’s going to be hard to part with them.

Angel Oak Tree on John's Island, South CarolinaOne of the things I’d love to do this year is visit Angel Oak Tree more often. It’s just a few minutes from my house, and every time I go I leave feeling calm and centered. I snapped this photo with my iPhone the morning after a rain.

Historic House | An East Coast Sea Cottage Color Palette

color palette historic house via delphineThese are the kind of colors I just didn’t see much back in SoCal … the coral door, paired with cool blue grey, chalk white and beige, with a hint of beach glass is a true East Coast beach cottage kind of color palette. We snapped this photo a few doors down from our studio. Love our little Elliotborough neighborhood — it’s full of inspiration.

Happy Halloween from the Cat Burglars

Family Costume Idea Cat Burglar Halloween via DelphineFor our first Halloween in Charleston, we decided to dress up as a Cat Burglar family. Mommy Cat + Daddy Burglar = Baby Cat Burglar! We had a blast walking around the neighborhood, but really were missing our dear friends from SoCal. It’s just not the same without y’all!!

Halloween at Delphine Studio 2012Some of the Delphine crew got the Halloween spirit going earlier in the day. Lytle was a hoarder, and Brelyn was a gangster. Trish was all smiles in her jack-o-lantern outfit. Jeff was out sick: booooo (feel better soon, dude). Sarah took the photo since she was the only one sans costume.
