introducing santa barbara wedding invitations by delphinenew design by delphine santa barbaraIt was a rainy day here at our Charleston studio, but we managed to sneak in a few photos between rain drops of our brand new design. A little bit vintage, a lot pretty … I’m pleased to announce that our new Santa Barbara invitation is now live on Delphine! Inspired by, you guessed it, Santa Barbara, California. It would be great for a fancy barn wedding or rustic ranch wedding, don’t you think? With twinkly lights and sparkly drinks and lace gowns and maybe even some cowboy boots.

Hello, February!

It’s going to be a fun month: we’re busy in the studio working on some brand new Delphine wedding invitation designs, which I’ll preview soon. Valentine’s Day is around the corner … the perfect opportunity to mail out  valentine’s day photo card  to all your loved ones if you never did get around to Christmas or New Year’s cards.

Also this month I’m headed back to Cali for Tradeshow Camp’s PAPER CAMP. I’m so excited to meet all our new students, catch up with some of my favorite paper peeps, and visit with my family & friends.

Paper Camp 2012

The schedule for the Spring 2013 season of Tradeshow Bootcamp has been released and I’m so happy to let you know that I’ll be a speaker at Paper Camp in Los Angeles, CA next month.

I will be discussing developing a wholesale stationery product line, developing a wholesale wedding invitation album, industry standards for pricing, terms, ordering, shipping and packaging. If you have any specific questions feel free to comment below and I’ll be sure to cover as much as possible in the workshop. Cannot wait to see everyone in Los Angeles.

Happy Halloween from the Cat Burglars

Family Costume Idea Cat Burglar Halloween via DelphineFor our first Halloween in Charleston, we decided to dress up as a Cat Burglar family. Mommy Cat + Daddy Burglar = Baby Cat Burglar! We had a blast walking around the neighborhood, but really were missing our dear friends from SoCal. It’s just not the same without y’all!!

Trish was all smiles in her jack-o-lantern outfit. Jeff was out sick: booooo (feel better soon, dude). Sarah took the photo since she was the only one sans costume.

A Lowcountry Commute

Lowcountry South Carolina commute view of tidal creek from marshThe “commute” to downtown Charleston, where our son goes to school, from our place on John’s Island means crossing three bridges and several Lowcountry tidal creeks and marshes. They have cool names like Stono and Wappoo. Everything is fun to say here. Even with the heaviest morning rush hour traffic it takes less than 30 minutes (15 of which is spent at the light outside our neighborhood). The scenery varies from pretty to spectacular. I don’t miss California freeways for one second!

Beach Scavenger Hunt Birthday Party

This year for his birthday he requested a beach party scavenger hunt at Seaside Beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea.

The kids got “a little” wet (some of them actually went swimming!) and had a blast searching for treasures like sea anemones, feathers, shells, lobster, surfers, swimming dogs, and whales. We spotted nearly everything on the list (including swimming dogs, excluding whales).

We celebrated with pizza, cupcakes and lemonade for the kiddos … and yummy cheese, warm coffee and cupcakes for the parents. One of the best parts of the party for me is the crazy easy setup and break down … all I brought was snacks, a drink bucket, a rollup portable table and some picnic blankets. I let Mother Nature do ALL the decorating! I did put together some goodie bags for the kids, with custom stickers, candy and a whoopie cushion. They are 8 year olds, after all. What could be better than sugar and a whoopie cushion?!

Happy birthday to my little guppy!

We love the classic navy blue and kelly green color combination that the editors chose for the spread. It really shows off how nice dark colors look as backgrounds for invitations.

Our Wonderland wedding invitation design is available flat printed (better for flooding the background with color) or letterpress.

shared work space — studio in oceanside for rent

Fellow North County graphic designer / photographer Myles McGuinness is looking for a new studio mate. The studio/gallery space is a couple blocks from the Oceanside Pier in the heart of downtown Oceanside, California. You could walk to the beach for your coffee break!
