Wow. Just wow. I cannot wait to see Ferme à Papier by Cat Seto in person (and to see and squeeze Cat herself) at the National Stationery Show (Booth 2136). Truly, I couldn’t wait, so I went ahead and placed an order already. Patience isn’t my thing.Pin It

Sneak peek at what I’m up to today: my Pinterest inspiration board for a photo shoot, code named “project classy Christmas.” I know the suspense is killing you. The biggest challenge when styling this photo shoot is going to be keeping a straight face/not peeing in my pants. I know. Sometimes even I am jealous of my own job.
It’s never dull here at the Delphine studio. Yesterday we had a photo shoot. Sneak peek behind the scenes shot above left. Add “reluctant model” to my list of duties as a business owner. We also picked up our new 2012 calendar from the pressroom. It’s our most colorful one yet. We’ll take photos later this week and get it up on the site soon. Meanwhile if you’d like to order let me know — they are ready to ship!
A few reasons for the radio silence around here: We’re finishing up the new Delphine wedding invitation album — working on assembling the dealer decks now (hitting stores any day now), and we’re busy taking photos of our new designs, including Carnival, Lace, and Watercolor Stripes.

I’m working on a new logo project for a client who is planning a private cruise around the Med this summer. Here’s a time I would seriously not mind working for trade! I was doing some cruising around Pinterest and started noticing fun nautical items, so I started an inspiration/mood board for my client. Normally this is something I do in a sketchbook — which makes it difficult to share with a client who lives thousands of miles away. How I ever lived without Pinterest is a mystery to me now! It’s so convenient for sharing images with clients.
Four logos shown above can be seen on my Project Marina inspiration board. Top left: distressed anchor logo by Jon Contino (via Grain Edit); Top right: Mustard yellow anchor logo also by Jon Contino; Bottom Left: Sea Salt Society logo by Trademark Trademark; Bottom Right: Vintage label found via LovelyPackage.
I spent nearly all day last Friday prepping for Saturday morning’s wedding invitation photo shoot. The light is best in our home kitchen (we love to shoot in natural light), so we have to transport everything from the studio on boards.
Unfortunately, we had a very rare rainy day on Saturday, so the light wasn’t that great. We had to pull in lights to get the shoot finished. Normally, we’d just postpone the shoot, but our friend Adrianne Smith delivered some amazing flowers and special boutonnieres, and we wanted to use them before they wilted away.
Here are a couple of quick peeks. I’m still sifting through the hundreds of photos to find the handful that will end up on our website. Our WONDERLAND invitation, shown flat printed in a truly classic black and pink wedding invitation color combo. Adrianne made a beautiful classic white anemone boutonniere for us, and I think they complement each other perfectly.
Our PACIFIC BEACH invitation, shown flat printed in one of my all time favorite color combinations for wedding invitations: yellow and gray. Adrianne made a charming yellow feverfew boutonniere for us. Isn’t it darling? I love boutonnieres. I tried to convince John to wear it around the house after the shoot was complete, but he said it didn’t go with his holey sweatshirt.
Thought you’d like a peek at some of the projects I have worked on this year. These were all designed for one of my all time favorite (and my only Danish) clients: Isabella Smith. I designed that cute (if I do say so myself) logo for her Isabella Smith Country Store, too. The logo is a sketch of the building where she works. How lucky is she to work in such an amazing environment?!?!! A couple of my favorite projects haven’t made it into the photo studio just yet (dozens of seed packets) or into production yet (eco-friendly cleaning products, a series of pretty mugs, some café au lait bowls …) but I’ll post photos as soon as everything gets wrapped up.
reminder: you can click on just about any photo on the blog to see it larger.
I spent some time over the weekend wrapping up a big photo shoot here at the Delphine abode for our new 2011 desk calendars. So far more than 600 photos have been taken. Trying to narrow it down to just 12 is going to be difficult, to say the least.
I cannot wait for Bixby & Ball to open its doors. It’s going to be goooood. More sneak peeks to come soon.
We’ve just added eight new ink colors to the Delphine ink palette on our website! Introducing one of my favorites: APRICOT. It looks oh so lovely paired with “classic” Delphine inks:celedon green, ciel bleu, cantaloupe and sand. It’s so summery and beachy. But guess what? I’m working on a holiday card with the ink, too!I like the retro vibe the color palette has.

Happy Friday, lovelies. I hope you enjoy a fabulous weekend with friends and family. I’ll leave you with a sneak peek at a letterpress project I did for Martha Stewart Weddings. It will be in the Fall 2010 issue : )
